A.S.S. Bakery

I finished the tri-fold and I can't say that I am totally in love with it, but I know that I worked hard on it. I think that it needs a lot more work and more thought into the whole idea of the bakery, but I know that what I did was worth while. When I took it back to my best friend to show her, she loved the concept of it. I feel like the colors need to be more vibrant. I need to create a new font because the fonts that I used did not really look too nice to me. I kept on getting frustrated with the fonts. there aren't any that are ascetically appealing to me and it just kept getting me mad.

I feel like I could have done better with the tri-fold, but it's definitely something that I can work on in the future.

Death of Painting .. ?

Did painting die? The real physical art of painting a picture, is that dead? The purpose of art today is rarely a matter of solely achieving aesthetic visual pleasure. Not often do we see contemporary artists whose main aim in their work is to create beauty and nothing more. Art also makes us think, and what we as the viewer expect to get in the balance between what ideas an artwork stirs in our minds, and what it makes us feel based on its aesthetic qualities changes through time. When we look at Durer’s water colour ‘Young Hare, 1502’ we admire the precision with which he has drawn each strand of fur, and the beauty within the realism. He is making a statement about the world and how we see it, his vision and technical brilliance persuades us to feel a connection. Yet when we look at fairly recent painting it is these things that are often not given. In the painting ‘Durer’s Hare 1968’ by German artist Sigmar Polke, we see Durer’s Hare copied and placed against expressive white brush marks which are painted on mass produced fabric. Polke is using an image and autograph from the greatest of German artists, marks reminiscent of abstract expressionism and a surface from consumer culture. These different elements show the options of subject to a painter of that time. Pop, abstraction or the return to the great tradition of figurative painting. I believe there is a necessity to make and see paintings that extends from the past to the future, that there is as much necessity in Polke as in Durer. Through this essay I will view the opinions expressed in several essays that investigate this essay title and express my opinion in relation. I want to disentangle different possible interpretations of the claim and state my defence of painting.

Graffiti Artwork

Graffiti art is an art form. The reasons, including aesthetic criteria, as to why it is an art form far outweigh the criticism of illegality, incoherence, and nonstandard presentation. The objective of this paper is to explain how graffiti art overcomes these concerns and thereby can be considered as an art form.

Suppose that Leonardo, Monet, Picasso, or any of the recognized artisans of Western European culture were alive in the present day. Then, suppose that one of these famous artists decided to paint a masterpiece on the side of your house or on your front door or on a wall in your neighborhood. Would Picasso or Monet's markings be graffiti or art or vandalism or graffiti art? The answer may vary across people, but I would claim that those markings are art in the form of graffiti. Their markings would qualify as vandalism only if they appeared on private or public property without permission. The same answer holds for the present day, genre of graffiti known as graffiti art.

Graffiti art originated in the late 1960's, and it has been developing ever since. However, it is not readily accepted as being art like those works that are found in a gallery or a museum. It is not strictly denied the status of genuine art because of a lack of form or other base aesthetic elements. Most of the opposition to graffiti art is due to its location and bold, unexpected, and unconventional presentation, but its presentation and often illegal location does not necessarily disqualify it as art. In this paper, I elucidate how some forms of graffiti can be accepted as art. This type of graffiti is known as graffiti art, subway art, or spraycan art. The arguments of vandalism and unconventional presentation as negating the ability of some graffiti to be art is usurped by an explanation of those properties apparent in some forms of graffiti that do qualify it, aesthetically, as art. To show this, I provide a historical context of graffiti, and then I provide persuasive evidence that graffiti art is art.

Its interesting to think that we started this class so long ago but it feels like yesterday. I fel like i have come a long way in terms of design and being able to make my own flyers and such. It's great to know that if it comes down to it, I do have the skills and the creativity needed to make thing on the computer. I am glad that I am able to take my creativity and make something great out of it.

I will be taking my skills along with me in the future where ever I end up. It's a great skill to have, especially in this society where the more you know and the more skills you have, the better.

Graphic Design

Visual communication is the transformation of thoughts and ideas into pictures, photos, graphs and drawings. It is considered as the most interesting and fascinating form of communication because of the creativity it contains and the vision it requires. According to Wikipedia, visual communication is most commonly used daily when surfing the internet because a person uses his eyes to view the websites therefore the content of the website should be clear and understandable for the viewer’s eyes. It is usually practiced by using the means of graphic design in order to put across their ideas into pictures or real life projects. This paper will talk about Graphic design, Graphic Designers, the steps a person needs to take to become a graphic designer, all the different fields in graphic design and the way the United Arab Emirates supports its students and future designers.

Graphic designers are needed in all types of corporations including commercial and entertainment businesses. In accordance to Wikipedia, “graphic design is the process of communicating visually using text and images to present information.” In contrast to what people might think, graphic design “often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.” In order for a person to choose graphic design as a career path , that person should be exceptionally creative and artistic, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines, and has the ability to communicate well with others because his job description will oblige him to correspond with clients frequently and execute their requirements and desires in his/her work. In reference to newsbytes, a graphic designer should be well aware of the functionality of his/her design rather than just being worried about meeting with the client’s request. “Give clients what they really need, not what they say they need”
